DILLIGENCE CREATES INTELLIGENCE.
Members of the Nara Clan are known for tending deer and their ability to manipulate shadows in secret techniques utilizing Yin Release. Many of their members are highly intelligent and extremely efficient strategists, and as a result are relied on to hold important political and military positions within the village.
[attr="class","nintales-subtitle"]CLAN MEMBER CHARACTERISTICS,
[attr="class","nintales-body-2"]
The Nara Clan has kept a book with various medicine preparations and effects for generations, and many become skilled in healing arts in their later years. Its members also maintain a special bond with the deer of the Nara Clan Forest, who do not attack them on sight when they venture within.
[break][break]
Jackets worn by Nara Clan members are emblazoned with a rudimentary version of their clan’s symbol, and all Nara men tie their hair in ponytails— a customary fashion in the clan. While many of them have dark hair, their appearances can vary.[break][break]
It is customary for Nara Clan members to have the word for 'deer' somewhere (Shika) in their names.

[attr="class","nintales-body-2"]
The Nara Clan have a special relationship with the Akimichi and Yamanaka Clan, having created a pact that dictates the three clans work together, protect one another, and combine their strengths to protect the village. Members of the Sarutobi Clan bestow them with earrings each generation when they become chūnin and swear this oath, and they in turn return them to give to the next generation when the time comes.
[break][break]
The three clans form the Ino-Shika-Chō team with a trio of shinobi— one from each clan. Every iteration of this team has been known for their unique and tactically superior formation in battles.

[attr="class","nintales-body-2"]
The signature fundamental technique of the Nara Clan. Utlizing Yin Release, they manipulate their shadow across a surface to merch with another shadow. They can stretch their shadow however they wish, but are limited by its surface area. Once shadows are merged, the target cannot move on their own other than to talk, and are forced to imitate the Nara Clan member’s movements— although they can resist and break free if their strength is higher than the clan member’s control. This technique is extremely draining on chakra, with the best of the Nara Clan only able to maintain it in five minute intervals.

(C-RANK // RANGE: SHORT-MED // DURATION: 2 (unless broken or interrupted) // CD: 3) A variation of the Shadow Imitation Technique designed for offensive purposes. The user extends their shadow along a target’s body, where it is used to restrain them. The closer the user is to the target, the stronger the binding becomes. Like all shadow techniques, this requires a great deal of chakra to control and maintain, making it weaker over time. It is most effective when immediately used to strangle or snap a target’s neck. This technique can be used on oneself; the shadow can break the user’s own finger to release them from any and all genjutsu.[break][break]
(B-RANK // RANGE: SHORT-MED // DURATION: 2 (unless broken or interrupted) // CD: 4) The user, instead of materializing shadows to control others, uses them to attack and bind by shaping them into about a dozen sharp tendril-like needles that can be controlled separately. They can then attack the same or several targets simultaneously. Once pierced multiple times, their targets can be immobilized. This technique can be transformed back into the Shadow Imitation Technique, and is taxing on the user’s chakra reserves and control.

(B-RANK // RANGE: LONG // DURATION: 2 (unless broken) // CD: 4) The user infuses a ninja tool such as a kunai or shuriken with their own chakra, granting them the properties of the Shadow Imitation Technique. Once this tool makes contact with a target’s shadow, they become immobilized for a short period of time. This technique overcomes the range-limitations associated with shadow imitation, but like shadow imitation can be broken free with greater strength.
