Compared to most Inuzuka of his experience he is above average at smelling things. Being both a runt and still growing, Chikomaru is not effective in combat. What he can do, however, is mark objects or people from a short distance. He can track this scent in tactical combat up to a long distance. The ninken cannot track other scents this way but shares Ranto's level of nose sensitivity. Being a puppy, Chikomaru lacks the attention span to track over long periods of time.
