The story begins with the defiance of the former – a young, beautiful, gracious woman of the Branch Family of the Hyuuga Clan, Kimiko.
[break][break]
One of the most talented members of the Hyuuga Clan despite her status within the family, merely because of when and whom she was born to. Throughout her life, Kimiko was known throughout the family as the kindest and most supportive soul they had, and loved by those that were not swathed in their arrogance. While others had more selfish goals, her only goal was to change the ways of the Hyuuga.
[break][break]
And at the age of twenty-one, she, alongside her team, saved the lives of countless samurai and the Daimyo of the Lands of Fire, which began a long affair born of appreciation, admiration, and respect from a Lord in his early thirties that wasn’t well-respected for his decisions as leader of the lands. Two years later, a controversial decision spawned that splintered a political mess within the Hyuuga Clan and spit on the blood of the main family, with the proposal of marriage. And though there were many women within the main branch, it was the lower that was chosen. Ultimately, this boosted the prestige of the Hyuuga within the village and the lands.
[break][break]
Years later, the Heir of Fire and child of the Daimyo and Hyuuga was born, Tokugawa Aiko. Lord Ieyasu and his wife Kimiko raised Aiko with absolute privilege, shielding her from the truths of the world and setting the seeds as the first female Daimyo of the Lands of Fire, and instilling in her a thick code of ethics and morality that her father did not necessarily share – to make her a better leader than he ever was. Against her father’s wishes, Kimiko, while still fighting to change the culture of the Hyuuga, built a sense of pride of her estranged family while teaching the tradition and the ways of her family while her samurai guardian taught her years of self-defense throughout her childhood and her teenage years in the form of Iaido and Kenjutsu.
[break][break]
But that pretty, perfect life would not last forever.
[break][break]
Days before her twenty-fourth birthday, Aiko would be named the Lady Daimyo of Fire upon the suspicious death of her father, with her sickly and aging mother serving amongst her council.
[break][break]
And now, her life is shattered and riddled with the stress of leadership that she was not yet mature for. Amongst the questionable political decisions of her deceased father, his main rival that vows to usurp her position, acting to aid and fulfill her mother’s dreams of changing the Hyuuga, and unraveling the conspiracy that surrounds her father’s death and now aims for her, the young Lady Aiko acts to challenge impossible odds.
