Akemi is a graceful woman who takes pride in her looks. She is often seen wearing her dress, and while fashionable, also gives her more flexibility than most would think. She is often seen smoking her longpipe, which is both a bad habit, and a signature of hers, reminding everyone of her status as the Gobi's Jinchuuriki.

They say that loyalty breeds respect and gratitude. That wasn't true for me.[break][break]
I was born a daughter of the Sunashige family. A respected family with a respected history, I was the pride and joy of my parents. That is, of course, until I was chosen to carry the village's bijuu. They said that it was because our family was the most loyal, the most true. I say it was a curse, a way for the village to shackle us even further into their folds. [break][break]
But I should move on, shouldn't I?[break][break]
From a young age, I was trained to be a weapon. But of course, what do you expect from a village in need of strong ninjas? I was the Jinchuuriki, their sacrifice, their weapon, and therefore my training must be...all-encompassing. I started trying to access my chakra at age five, successfully tapped into the Gobi's chakra at six, and was beaten up and healed as they demanded more of me.[break][break]
The Academy? Those are for chumps. No, they trained me specifically and well. By eight years old, I was already part of a genin team. By nine, I was already being forced to access the Gobi's chakra to do more dangerous missions. By ten years old, I was a chunin.[break][break]
Oh, I suppose this was also the time when I found my love for dresses, my love for the finer things in life, and my need to see and be the beauty that is within the Land of Wind. A girl can't become a proper lady without all of these, after all. Well, at least that was what my mother said. Not that it matters in the end...[break][break]
As a chunin, I operated with various teams. The village wanted more of me, to be their weapon, and more importantly, to make sure that I kept up with training through battle experience. I made sure to exceed expectations. After all, I can't help but be at my best. This was also the time when the Gobi started interacting with me more, and therefore my Boil Release techniques started to shine. Well, that, and it was also the time when the village started to realize that with my Boil Release being non-discriminate, which makes finding a team for me a drag. Well, I like going solo anyway.[break][break]
And so I was promoted to Jonin after a series of kill-missions. This was also when I started going on missions alone.[break][break]
Speaking of, I should broach the topic of the Gobi. They have been...a mother of sorts to me, and a sister sometimes. I don't often visit them in my seal, but when I do, it's usually to share a cup of tea, and a lesson from the Gobi. Kokuo. That's her name. One they shared only because I had been a constant visitor, and they saw me as a student, of sorts. It's not like I can release them, because it would most likely lead to my death. But we're in the same boat, truly. We didn't want ourselves to be bound like this, but it's a reality we must face. And we face it together.[break][break]
Ah, well, I suppose it was during the start of my jonin career that I started smoking as well. And what a blessing that was, since it was the reason why I got an apprentice, of sorts.[break][break]
You see, one night, while I was coming back from a mission, I stopped on top of a dune to smoke. Kokuo and I like to sit outside the village once in a while to smoke and just talk. But that night was slightly different. I saw, just on the horizon, a body. It didn't take long for me to realize that it was a Suna nin, and one that seemed to be on a supply run. Of poisons. Deadly poisons.[break][break]
It took a careful extraction to take everything back to Suna, and even then, I was the only one allowed to touch the body until proper medic nins arrived. In the end, I was tasked with delivering the bad news to the Chikamatsu family. Though, this was when I met Shiori.[break][break]
I couldn't help but take the tiny girl into my care. She had potential, but she needed...help. Help in the way of achieving what she can achieve. I was determined to get this girl out her shell. I always wanted a baby sister after all. Or is she more like a daughter? Oh, who knows...[break][break]
And that's where we're at right now! The weapon of Sunagakure and a budding, but shy, puppeteer. A tale for the ages, I'm sure!
