Kodama looked towards the busy street and sighed. Perhaps there was a reason he could give to escape this meeting. In fact, he wasn't even sure as to why he had agreed to it. To be fair, it wasn't like he could say no to the woman. She was the Hokage, after all. The new Hokage, but still the Hokage.
And that is why he found himself sitting in this restaurant, one that was ran by one of the Akimichi clan members. Instead of a barbecue place, however, this one was a ramen restaurant. A step-up from the ramen stands he used to frequent, but the food equally rivaled those from the streets. It was a respectable place, respectable enough for the Hokage, at least.
Kodama ignored the stares he received and instead focused on the menu. Well, his eyes were at least focused, his mind, however, was wandering. The world was changing, and he was once more close to the epicentre of it.
The snakes at Ryuchi Cave had been grumbling as of late. There were talks of some power rising, though they can never be too specific. This was, of course, because they themselves did not know what this power was. It was just whispers, brought to them by the various snakes that pay homage to their cave and sanctuary. Whispers and rumours that Kodama realized he should take seriously.
And of course there was Konoha itself. The death of the previous Hokage had been a shock to all of them, especially those in the Senju clan. He knew that his mother was angling to vie for the position. But then, an Uchiha was elected. This caused a stir within his clan, and there were whispers that his mother and father might do something about it. In the end, they didn't, keeping whatever status quo that is left within the village.
He supposed this was one of the reasons as to why he wanted to meet the Hokage. Perhaps it was a way for him to gauge how much he could trust this woman.

In high school, the language I most fell in love with happened to be a dead one: Latin. Sure, it’s spoken at the Vatican, and when I first began to study the tongue of Virgil and Catullus, friends joked that I could only use it if I moved to Rome. Tempting, but church Latin barely resembles the classical written language, a highly formal grammar full of symmetries and puzzles. You don’t speak classical Latin; you solve it, labor over it, and gloat, to no one in particular, when you’ve rendered it somewhat intelligible. Given that the study of an ancient language is rarely a conversational art, it can sometimes feel a little alienating.
And so you might imagine how pleased I was to discover what looked like classical Latin in the real world: the text known to designers around the globe as “Lorem Ipsum,” also called “filler text” and (erroneously) “Greek copy.” The idea, Priceonomics informs us, is to force people to look at the layout and font, not read the words. Also, “nobody would mistake it for their native language,” therefore Lorem Ipsum is “less likely than other filler text to be mistaken for final copy and published by accident.” If you’ve done any web design, you’ve probably seen it, looking something like this:
When I first encountered this text, I did what any Latin geek will—set about trying to translate it. But it wasn’t long before I realized that Lorem Ipsum is mostly gibberish, a garbling of Latin that makes no real sense. The first word, “Lorem,” isn’t even a word; instead it’s a piece of the word “dolorem,” meaning pain, suffering, or sorrow. So where did this mash-up of Latin-like syntax come from, and how did it get so scrambled? First, the source of Lorem Ipsum—tracked down by Hampden-Sydney Director of Publications Richard McClintock—is Roman lawyer, statesmen, and philosopher Cicero, from an essay called “On the Extremes of Good and Evil,” or De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum.

Summon or Familiar?: Summon. Species: Snake. Affinity: Water and Earth.
Appearance:
Orochi is the largest of the snakes in his generation, rivaling any of the other boss summons this day and age. He sports the usual figure of a snake summon, though has two distinct whiskers on each side of his nostrils. Two horns protrude just above his brows, making him look even more menacing. His body is pearl-white, disturbed by the golden scales that shimmer in the sunlight. Because of his appearance, he has earned the moniker: Kogane no Ryūda (黄金の龍蛇).
Personality:
Orochi retains the pride and dignity that is expected of a boss summon from the Ryuchi Cave. He addresses those he believes deserve his respect with the honorific -sama. He takes pride in his prowess, but also knows his limits. Orochi, however, has pride, which puts him in precarious situations. However, those who prove to be a worthy summoner are able to sway his more stubborn side. He is a loyal summon, though his first priority is always the safety and security of his fellow snakes within Ryuchi Cave.
Capabilities and/or Abilities:
Just like any other snake summon, Orochi is quick and slippery, able to react quickly to situations and dodge attacks with ease. Because of his size, he is able to use his body to constrict his opponents. He has access to both Water and Earth elements, though is not able to use any specific jutsu because of his lack of hands for hand signs. Orochi, however, is able to burrow underground with ease, and spew water (poisoned) in a jet-like fashion from his mouth. His bite is also venomous, slowly paralyzing those he bites.
When not in combat, Orochi is able to transform himself into a human form, just like his brethren within Ryuchi Cave. When in his human form, he is a young man with perfectly combed white hair, dressed in an elegant golden kimono.
Notes: Orochi is based on the snake summon already existing in Narutoverse, his human transformation is in accordance to the snakes found in Ryuchi cave such as Tagitsuhime, Ichikishimahime and Tagorihime.
Senju Kodama has acquired the art of senjutsu from surviving after being bitten by the White Snake Sage residing in Ryūchi Cave. With his training under the White Snake Sage, Senju Kodama has achieved a master level of control and usage of his Sage abilities.
A nature transformation kekkei genkai unique to the Senju Clan, Wood Release combines Earth and Water Release, allowing users to control plants and plant life. This nature transformation is known to be exceptionally powerful and versatile. Users can sprout plants from their bodies or in their surroundings, and the strongest Senju Clan members are able to swallow entire towns with a forest in a matter of moments. More delicate constructs can created as well, and in some cases Wood Release can even be used to absorb chakra of those its techniques ensnare.
Due to the nature of his training as a child, compounded by the trauma of battle and the harsh training that the White Snake Sage put him through, Senju Kodama has shown to have a sensitivity to small and large-scale battles. Kodama has shown the ability to be very vicious in battle, and sensitive to his surroundings; having shown to be able to capitalize on even the slightest of advantages, tilting the scale into his favour.
Kodama's focus throughout his life has been ninjutsu. While he had not neglected taijutsu, genjutsu, and shurikenjutsu, he showed most promise in ninjutsu the most. He has shown the ability to shorten the amount of hand signs for ninjutsu techniques, and is known to master techniques faster than most. This has amplified further after becoming the Snake Sage.
[attr="class","nthrmini"] TRANSFORMATION TECHNIQUE (変化の術) [break][break] (E-RANK // RANGE: NA // DURATION: NA // CD: NA) Allows the user to take the appearance of whoever and whatever they choose. Inanimate objects are the most difficult to transform into, but the user will gain the physical features of whatever they transform into, such as a weapon’s sharpness. While this technique is easy to use, it is difficult to master, and even practiced transformations may contain minor flaws that expose them. The transformation can be dissolved at will by the user or is naturally dispelled when the user is knocked out or heavily injured.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] BODY FLICKER TECHNIQUE (瞬身の術) [break][break] (D-RANK // RANGE: SHORT-LONG // DURATION: NA // CD: 2) A high-speed movement technique used by shinobi to travel short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed. To an observer, it appears as if they have simply teleported. The longer the distance traveled and the bigger the difference in elevation between the start and end points, the more chakra this technique requires in order to work. Certain substances can be used as an added distraction when executing the technique, such as sand, ink, or water.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] BODY REPLACEMENT TECHNIQUE (変わり身の術) [break][break] (D-RANK // RANGE: NA // DURATION: NA // CD: 3) The instant before they are struck by an attack, the user replaces themselves wth a substitute item, leading opponents to believe that their attack landed— although this is simply an optical illusion. This technique is often used as either an opportunity to escape or as a means to distract an opponent for a counterattack. Explosive tags can be applied to the substitute item so that it explodes on hit.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] EARTH RELEASE: HIDING MOLE TECHNIQUE (土遁・土竜隠れの術) [break][break] (RANGE: NA // DURATION: 3 (unless ended early) // CD: 4) The user converts earth into fine sand beneath their feet, allowing them to dig and pass through like a mole. While underground, they can pinpoint where they are, as well as sense vibrations overhead while hiding in a depth enemies can’t normally reach. Once they dig, the earth above them is returned to normal, leaving no trace of their entry. Excellent for infiltration and information gathering.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] RAINMAKER TECHNIQUE (雨虎自在の術) [break][break] (D-RANK // RANGE: LONG // DURATION: 3 // CD: 3) The user summons rain over a wide area. Each drop of rain is subtly infused with their chakra, connecting to the shinobi’s senses and allowing them to sense chakra signatures of whoever and whatever the rain touches or interacts with. The user cannot know specifically who the signature belongs to, however. 'Hurting' or attempting to attack the rain does nothing but alert the user, making this a safe technique for finding intruders or sensing disturbances.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] EARTH RELEASE: EARTH FLOW SPEARS (土遁・土流槍) [break][break] (C-RANK // RANGE: MED // DURATION: 2 // CD: 4) The user stomps the ground, causing myriad spikes to erupt from beneath their target up to a medium distance away, attempting to skewer them. The earthen spikes cannot penetrate any targets or obstacles of greater density. The user can also choose to produce a single large spike instead.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] SUMMONING TECHNIQUE (口寄せの術) [break][break] (C-RANK // RANGE: NA // DURATION: 3 // CD: 6) A widely known technique used to transport a target to the shinobi’s location. Before a creature or animal can be summoned, the shinobi must form a contract with it or its species. These summons are usually called upon to lend assistance in battle or to complete certain tasks. Only one creature or animal can be summoned at a time, and only one species of animal or creature can be contracted with per character. The summon is returned home after their contracted time expires.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] WOOD CLONE TECHNIQUE (木分身の術) [break][break] (C-RANK // RANGE: SHORT-MEDIUM // DURATION: 2 // CD: 3) The user alters their own cells and creates new vegetation, generating a clone that can engage in combat and used in the Body Replacement Technique. Wood clones can travel a short distance from the user, merge with plants and trees, and perform jutsu up to C-Rank. Wood clones can take a few hits, but are inhibited by the actions of the user and will not be able to act much if the user is not focused.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] WOOD RELEASE: CUTTING TECHNIQUE (木遁・挿し木の術) [break][break] (C-RANK // RANGE: SHORT // DURATION: 1 // CD: 2) The user produces sharp wooden spikes from their body to use as short-range weapons akin to makeshift blades or to launch as accurate but short-ranged projectiles. Projectiles can be lengthened mid-flight, turning into skewering. Powerful, but relatively short in range.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] WOOD RELEASE: WOOD LOCKING WALL (木遁・木龍の術) [break][break] (C-RANK // RANGE: SHORT-MED // DURATION: 1 // CD: 3) The user creates and joins two wooden pillars into the shape of a dome around them or a target up to a medium distance away— shielding or trapping the target. Excellent at sheltering against long distance attacks. The larger the size of the dome, the bigger the strain on the user’s chakra reserves.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] EARTH RELEASE: BEDROCK COFFIN (土遁・岩盤柩) [break][break] (B-RANK // RANGE: SHORT-MED // DURATION: NA // CD: 4) The user shifts sections of rock around their opponent, bringing them together with great force to literally crush an opponent in a coffin of earth. This technique is both quick and powerful, but requires significant control and strength to use.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] Sage Art: Great Poison Snake (仙法・大蛇毒) [break][break] (B-RANK // RANGE: MED-LONG // DURATION: NA // CD: 4) The user thursts their palm forward, sending forth nine snakes made of purple water, striking up to nine targets. Those struck are poisoned, alongside the damage that this technique deals to them. This technique is fast, faster due to it being enhanced with Sage Mode.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] SHADOW CLONE TECHNIQUE (影分身の術) [break][break] (B-RANK // RANGE: LONG // DURATION: 2 (unless dispersed) // CD: 4) The user creates a shadow clone copy of themselves, dividing their chakra between themselves and the clone created. Unlike basic clone techniques, shadow clones are physically real and able to interact with the world. They can act as decoys, overwhelm an opponent, carry out tasks, share information, and perform jutsu. They disperse once struck, transferring their chakra and any memories gained while summoned back to the user.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] WATER RELEASE: RISING WATER SLICER (水遁・水上切) [break][break] (B-RANK // RANGE: LONG // DURATION: NA // CD: 4) Quick and deadly. The user summons a linear wave of high-velocity water that shoots outwards from the ground at breakneck speeds towards a target. This technique is strong enough to slice cleanly through rock. Up to three such waves can be launched at a time.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] WATER RELEASE: THOUSAND STINGING NEEDLES OF DEATH (千殺水翔) [break][break] (B-RANK // RANGE: MED // DURATION: NA // CD: 5) The user summons at least a thousand long, thin needles of water from thin air to surround a target. With careful aim and masterful control, they aim at a target before firing the needles in bursts. Targets struck by the needles suffer myriad piercing injuries. The sheer number of needles make this an excellent technique for crowd control.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] WIND RELEASE: DIVINE WIND (風遁・神風) [break][break] (RANGE: LONG // DURATION: NA // CD: ONCE PER THREAD) The user produces a powerful stream of wind from their mouth, whipping up a whirlwind with such force that it immediately removes any hazards such as explosive tags and clones from a wide area around them. This technique uproots the earth and trees as it travels outwards, cleansing the battlefield with violent winds.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] WOOD RELEASE: GREAT SPEAR TREE (木遁・大槍樹) [break][break] (B-RANK // RANGE: SHORT-MED // DURATION: 2 // CD: 4) The user summons up to a dozen thick tree roots like spears from the ground, skewering opponents caught in their ascent. These roots can move at a limited capacity after summoning, and can be called on to then crush targets. If severed, they can no longer be controlled.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] WOOD RELEASE: WOOD DRAGON TECHNIQUE (木遁・木龍の術) [break][break] (B-RANK // RANGE: LONG // DURATION: 2 // CD: 5) The user summons a serpentine dragon made of wood, which can be used to restrain or relentlessly attack a target. On contact with its teeth, the dragon can gradually absorb chakra from a target, draining them in a vampiric fashion. At the end of its duration, the dragon detonates, resulting in a large explosion.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] EARTH RELEASE: GREAT MOVING EARTH CORE (土遁・大地動核) [break][break] (A-RANK // RANGE: LONG // DURATION: NA // CD: ONCE PER THREAD) The user channels an immense amount of chakra into the ground, allowing them to freely lower or raise the terrain within the area immediately surrounding them. This allows them to create giant pitfalls or elevations in the ground large enough to trap a fully formed Tailed Beast. This technique requires both large amounts of chakra and control to use effectively.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] Sage Art: Inorganic Reincarnation (Senpō: Muki Tensei) [break][break] (A-RANK // RANGE: SHORT-LONG // DURATION: 2 (unless dispersed) // CD: 5) This technique is limited to those who have mastered the senjutsu of the Ryūchi Cave. This technique allows the user to breathe life into inorganic substances by filling the atmosphere with natural energy, changing the landscape, and using the inorganic material within the environment to their own advantage (such as to attack or defend with).[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] WATER RELEASE: GREAT EXPLODING WATER SHOCKWAVE (水遁・大爆水衝波) [break][break] (A-RANK // RANGE: LONG // DURATION: 3 // CD: ONCE PER THREAD) The user conjures a massive amount of water, covering an entire area with a veritable tsunami. This artificial ocean of water can be used for further Water Release techniques, and can even be reinforced to trap all enemies within like a gigantic water prison. The crushing waves produced by this technique make it incredibly difficult to escape, requiring large amounts of strength and stamina to resist.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] WIND RELEASE: BEAST TEARING GALE PALM (風遁・獣破烈風掌) [break][break] (A-RANK // RANGE: SHORT-LONG // DURATION: 2 // CD: ONCE PER THREAD) The user condenses a massive amount of wind-chakra and shapes it into the form of a massive demonic claw. This claw extends from their own hand and can be finely controlled to strike or grab a target, as well as deflect weapon attacks and projectiles. Depending on its use, the claw can be used to attack defend at all ranges, making it a deadly weapon. Extending the claw alone devastates anything in its path without affecting the user.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] WOOD RELEASE: WOOD HUMAN TECHNIQUE (木遁・木龍の術) [break][break] (A-RANK // RANGE: SHORT // DURATION: 2 // CD: 5) The user creates an enormous humanoid statue out of wood to be used in battle as an avatar. Instead of manifesting the whole humanoid, the user can also manifest an arm or hand for faster results. The dragon wrapped around its bodies can extend to attack as well. The wood human must remain close to the user and cannot wander far.[break][break]
[attr="class","nthrmini"] WOOD RELEASE: NATIVITY OF A SEA OF TREES (木遁・樹海降誕) [break][break] (S-RANK // RANGE: LONG // DURATION: 4 // CD: ONCE PER THREAD) A technique with a very long cast time, the user turns an entire area into a vast forest in a matter of moments, creating thick trees and grassy terrain. These trees pierce through obstructions, and can swallow entire villages if the user wills it (or if they lose control of the technique). Due to its power and scale, this technique can only be used once per thread and is extremely draining.[break][break]

Being born into the prestigious Senju clan was both a blessing and a curse.[break][break]
Kodama was born to the main family line of the Senju, the first-born male and therefore heir to the Senju family name. The timing of his birth had been perfect. The clan was slowly receding in size, and there was concern for the future of the Senju. He was the symbol of the Senju clan's rebirth, for a better and stronger future.[break][break]
His childhood had been filled with both joy and pain. Kodama wanted for nothing, and received everything that a child could want. However, he had to endure the burden of being the Senju clan's heir, and all the learning and training that meant for him.[break][break]
Ninjutsu, taijutsu, shurikenjutsu, and everything else that they could train him in, he was trained. At age seven, he showed an aptitude for his elements, the constant drilling making him bloom much earlier than his peers. By age eleven, he was showing signs of being able to use Mokuton.[break][break]
It was a lot for a boy, a young man, to bear. And as he grew older, the more he felt himself inadequate. Everyone praised him for his talents, for his skill, but was he ever truly enough?[break][break]
At age twelve, he was assigned to a genin team. At thirteen, he was promoted to chunin. [break][break]
Missions came and went, and Kodama took it all in stride. His first kill was a nukenin who had ambushed his genin team. A Mokuton technique pierced the man's heart as Kodama watched the life go out of his eyes. It would be the first time he threw up after a battle. The second time was when his chunin team was decimated, and he rose to become the Snake Sage.[break][break]
Another ambush, this time lethal, and Kodama was forced to retreat. In his haste, he stumbled upon a secret entrance, one that inadvertently led him to the White Snake. The snake took an interest in him, an interest in his chakra. His Mokuton abilities made him different from others, and it also made it easier for him to receive the White Snake's bite. He didn't die, unlike so many of his predecessors. [break][break]
The difference was: he had not planned to become the Snake Sage.[break][break]
But, power was power. In the end, he had undergone the training, and rose to become the next Sage of Snakes. Grueling as it was, he would be the first in the Senju line to summon snakes into battle. The reactions to it were mixed, though most of the clan agreed that this was a blessing in disguise. Not only was their heir a Mokuton user, but he was also the Sage of Snakes. [break][break]
And yet, was that ever enough?[break][break]
His jonin trials came and went, and Senju Kodama rose to surpass his peers. While a jonin, he had not yet taken any genin team to date. His position as the Snake Sage allow him some liberties, however, it also puts him in a position where more pressure is on his shoulders. [break][break]
Now, as the world slowly plunges into chaos, Senju Kodama knew that his time to be tested was nigh. Was he to rise from the ashes, as though a snake shedding its skin, to renew itself? Or was he to fall into the shadows? Only time will tell...
