It was always like this for Watabachi. Plagued by a terrible string of bad luck whenever he decided to take a gamble. Be that at the roll of a dice or a flip of any coin. That hadn't changed since he graduated from the academy. Though he doesn't get bullied anymore. Not since folk for the clan decided it was too much trouble when he could put up a fight himself. Though without them around he had plenty of time to focus on other things. Such as training or Mochi. Breeding insects or - "Mochi." Finding the lo-"Mochi." Yes, well his outing to the outskirts of Iwa today had been for the sake of Mochi.
A snack revered throughout the world as being the most delicious thing one could ever have had. Wata had only tried it once, and even then he had to snatch it off the table before running away. Not one of his finest moments of course. Luckily for him, even a starving boy knew that the sweet treat was downright delicious. Best thing he'd ever eaten in his life. So could you blame him for trying to go out and savor it again? Truth be told he had been thinking about that flavor he experienced ever since. Clouded under the flames of rebellion, honed by his idea of vengeance, and smothered under his pursuit for true friendship. All of that was now being hindered by Mochi.
Isn't that just the most insane thing you've ever heard? Don't tell Watabachi that though. May just find yourself on the bad end of a stinger if you do. But that was neither here nor there. For now, our fair avenger was trapped. Pinned down in a little shack far off from the village of Ginzan. Caught in one of those horrid rock storms. Stones the size of baseballs were pelting the area all around him and even over the horizon for as far as the eyes could see. "Fuck..me. Why, me!?" He screamed loud enough to startle what looked to be a wolf of some sort. One clad in an armor of what resembled stone appeared to be fine even under the effects of this "storm". "Great. Now I'm going to be Mochi. Could this day get any worse?" He asked. Frustration plagued his tone as the howl of a wolf rang out in the distance. Followed by another and then another. He was surrounded before he'd even come to realize it.
Tilting his head back he let it slide down the rotting walls of the small shack before blowing a stream of air out of his mouth. Chakra flushed out the air around him before what appeared to be a bee, whisked out from nowhere only to sting his cheek. "Oww!" Flinching from the pain he didn't bother swatting at the thing as it flew off somewhere. Before he knew it Watabachi was eager for more. An odd idea swirling within the sea of his gaze as yet another howl echoed out from the distance. This one sounded more clear than the others. Were they drawing closer? "I don't have time for this nonsense." He whispered to himself. Leaping up onto his feet he quickly dragged his thumb across the inner part of his thumb, drawing a bit of blood in the process. Yet nothing came out of it. Not a bee, or a wasp. Just nothing in the face of impending death. "...So much for that."
